The Royal Canadian Mounted Police are “now able to confirm that a deceased person that was found in a motel in Hope, British Columbia is, in fact, Ryan Jenkins,” Pound said.

“At this present time the investigation into the circumstances of his death is continuing, but preliminary evidence suggests that he took his own life. Any further details will not be released at this time as this investigation remains in its infancy.”

The Thunderbird was surrounded by police with a coroner’s van, said Mark Lojeski who works at the nearby Lucky Strike Motel.

Officials in California called the suicide “swift justice.”

“He killed himself because he knew he was in fact guilty, and he knew the authorities were closing in on him,” said Susan Schroeder, spokeswoman for the Orange County district attorney.

Jenkins had apparently hanged himself, said Farrah Emami, spokeswoman for the Orange County District Attorney’s Office in California, which is contact with Canadian police. Crime scene investigators identified Jenkins through fingerprints, she said.

Pound says police don’t yet know how long Jenkins was at the motel before his body was discovered.

According to Latimes, A contestant on a reality TV show was named a “person of interest” by police Tuesday in the case of a 28-year-old swimsuit model whose dead body was discovered stuffed into a suitcase and dumped into a Buena Park trash bin over the weekend.

Buena Park police say they want to talk to a Canadian national who was last seen with Jasmine Fiore last week at her Fairfax district home on Edinburgh Avenue. The man, Ryan Alexander Jenkins, a 32-year-old real estate developer from Calgary, reported Fiore missing Saturday.

Ryan Alexander Jenkins met Jasmine Fiore at a Las Vegas casino shortly after wrapping up filming on Megan Wants a Millionaire and the pair married two days later. Jenkins and Fiore had married shortly before his time on the third season of I Love Money but Fiore had annulled the marriage prior to the show. According to court records, Jenkins was charged in June 2009 in Clark County, Nevada, with a misdemeanor count of “battery constituting domestic violence” for hitting Fiore in the arm. Jenkins was expected to go on trial in December. The pair had reconciled shortly before Fiore’s death and were reportedly traveling to Las Vegas for a poker game. Fiore’s mother claims that the two fought frequently and that Jenkins had been jealous of Fiore’s friendships with her ex-boyfriends.
