According to the Hamilton County Coroner’s office, The wife of Cincinnati Bengals Defensive Coordinator Mike Zimmer Vikki Zimmer died of natural causes. The coroner’s office released results of an autopsy on Vikki Zimmer Monday afternoon. She died suddenly on Thursday. No specific cause of death could be determined until results from toxicology tests come back.
Vikki Zimmer had a tradition of baking treats for the Cincinnati Bengla players on Mondays after a victory. Those who weren’t watching their weight enjoyed them in Zimmer’s presence. Others had to sneak them. Her memory weighed heavy on the Bengals as they came from behind to beat the Baltimore Ravens. Mike Zimmer stood on the sidelines Sunday afternoon, accompanied by his father, son Adam Zimmer and one of his daughters Corri Zimmer.
I remember we were in the huddle and a lot of the guys were reminding each other: Remember, let’s do this for Zimmer. He’s going through a tough time now, and let’s do it for him. That helped us push ourselves even more to get this victory.

In the locker room after the victory, head coach Marvin Lewis awarded the game ball to an emotional Zimmer, who shared his thought with the team.
“My wife loves all of you. Win or lose, she’s proud of you. And I just appreciated all of your effort,”
Said Mike Zimmer as he hugged Team Members.
A visitation will be held for Vikki Zimmer Tuesday at Holy Cross Immaculata Church in Mount Adams.
